About Me

My career as a retail investor launched on June 13, 2023. Though already the gold award winner in the Student Investment Challenge Season 9 at the age of 17, I was still a fledging student in the realm of Finance who got stressed out by the daily volatility of my 1,000,000 HK Dollar AUM. The maximum drawdown of 17% alarmed me just how incompetent and naive I was. Thereafter, for the sake of transitioning myself from unconsciously incompetent to consciously incompetent, I joined the ITPM, where I was taught the professional approach to investing and how vital volatility truly is. It's the correct understanding and firm implementation of these frameworks of investing that guided me to become a better retail trader.

Though never met in person, Mr. Dalio's Principles rendered me the most crucial values I need to become a consistent trader. Embrace reality and deal with it; Pain + Reflection = Progress; the biggest threat to good decision-making is harmful emotions; these are the principles that I'll continue to implement for the rest of my life, not just as a trader in the financial market, but also in work & relationship outside of it. Reading his Principles was a turning point in my life.
